Friday Night MLS: Dallas takes another Texas Derby

FC Dallas 2-0 Houston Dynamo
After a storm delay of about an hour, Dallas got a couple of goals in the first half to take this edition of the Texas Derby to kick of MLS's rivalry weekend.

The first goal came 33 minutes in when Fabian Castillo got a fortuitous  bounce off of Houston's Jermaine Taylor for an own goal. Castillo would score one of his own in the 42nd minute as Dallas carved up the Dynamo defense like it was nothing. The Panamanian attacker came in from the wing and worked a give and go with Mauro Diaz that made the Houston center backs look silly before slotting a shot past Tyler Deric.

Dallas is now only three points behind the tandem of Seattle and Vancouver for first place in the West. Because the conference is so clustered at the top, they sit all the way down in fourth place despite the gap. Houston continues to slide down the table as they struggle to find any results. They sit in ninth place, four points back of a playoff spot.
