Sporting Kansas City 3-1 FC Dallas
Kansas City came into this one needing a win to solidify their playoff hopes, and they got just that against a talented FC Dallas side.
They dominated control of the ball throughout the first half, but didn't find any reward. The only reason for hat was the sublime goalkeeping of Dallas's Jesse Gonzalez. Had it not been for his robbing of Chance Myers's header at the end of the first half, it would have been a different story.
The goals came flying in the second half, staring with Benny Feilhaber bombing home a free kick in the 65th minute. Less than ten minutes later, Dom Dwyer earned a penalty out of Gonzalez leading to Feilhaber's second of the night.
Dallas was on their way back into the game courtesy of Victor Ulloa's first of the season. In the 80th minute, Ulloa took a low shot that went right through the usually strong handed Tim Melia to make it 2-1. SKC made sure that was nothing more than false hope, however. Dom Dwyer hammered home the third goal in the 83rd to put the game our of Dallas's reach.
Kansas City uses the three points to move four points clear of dropping out of the playoffs. Dallas misses a chance to get back in front of Vancouver for the Supporters Shield lead. They are still a point back in second place.
