Friday MLS: Orlando and San Jose are not dead... yet

Orlando City 2-1 New York City
New York City looked to have Orlando's slim playoff hopes taken care of with a first half stoppage time goal by Kwame Watson-Sirobe. Soon to be rookie of the year Cyle Larin had other plans, however. The 20 year old sensation scored his 16th and 17th goals of the season in the 62nd and 70th minutes to keep the Lions alive for the playoffs. Their ultimate fate is not in their hands, however. A Montreal win over New England tonight ends their season.

San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 Sporting Kansas City
The Quakes go back above the red line for the time being thanks to Anibal Godoy's 47th minute goal. It was a wonderful defensive effort by the home side as well. They only allowed SKC to take eight shots on the night, despite having superior possession, particularly in the second half. They are level on points with both Seattle and Portland for fifth place at the moment. Their fate is less dire than Orlando's, but still out of their control.
