Coupe de France
Nice 2-2 Stade Rennes (6-7 on penalties)
(Mendy 39', Ben Arfa PK 118')-(Boga 82', Andre 113')

Coupe de France's ninth round ends with a thrilling penalty shootout between Ligue 1 opponents. Both sides had a re card at some point in the match, including Rennes midfielder Romain Danze to set up the game tying penalty minutes before the end of extra time. The penalty shootout was also a real doozy, with Rennes surviving 7-6.

Headlines
Major news out of the Spanish capital as Rafa Benitez was canned as manager of Real Madrid after Sunday's 2-2 draw with Valencia. Adding to the intrigue are the reports that Zinedine Zidane, who is currently in charge of the reserve side, will take over to manage the senior team. To make things even more juicy (as if it needed to be), reports indicate that Jose Mourinho could be the next option if Zidane doesn't work out.

Geoff Cameron was sent off for a slap to the back of West Brom's Claudio Yacob's head on Saturday. The American international has successfully appealed the two game ban that went along with it. The FA claims the red card was unjustified to begin with and that Yacob over embellished the contact in order to draw a red.

Derby County have Premier League ambitions and they have turned to France to aid their cause. They have pried away Abdoul Camara from Ligue 1 side Angers for about £1.25 million. The Guinea international has scored twice in 17 starts.

Here is also your friendly reminder to beware of any transfer "news" you may hear throughout the month. Rumors and gossip fly around faster in the soccer world than in a high school hallway. So next time you see "Neymar to Manchester United?! It could happen!" remember that The Onion has more truth to it than that story.
