Hooligan's Wake Up: Chelsea win big, Real Madrid drop points again

Chelsea actually decided to play a match for once as they thoroughly beat Crystal Palace in South London. The La Liga table was shaken up a bit as top sides dropped points. And Liverpool is apparently making a move for a Serbian teenager.

Real Madrid dropped points again in disappointing fashion. After Gareth Bale gave them the lead with eight minutes left, Valencia stole the draw right back. Villarreal also had a thing for late heroics as a deep stoppage time penalty lifted them over Coruna, who falls outside a Spanish Europa League spot.

A couple Ligue 1 sides score emphatic wins in the ninth round. Lyon lit up Limoges 7-0 and Monaco dropped ten on St. Jean Beaulieu. Paris St. Germain decided to go with the ho-hum 1-0 win over lesser opposition and Marseille needed penalties to get by fellow top division club Caen in the only match between two Ligue 1 clubs.

Headlines
Leicester City fear slipping down in the table and their efforts to avoid that took a big hit. Sudden superstar Jamie Vardy will be out for around two weeks thanks to undergoing minor groin surgery. It's only two weeks, but any time without Vardy is a bad time for the Foxes.

Liverpool are apparently close to signing Serbian teenager Marko Grujic from Red Star Belgrade. After overcoming rumors that his father might hold his passport hostage to keep him in his home country, it appears the Reds will pay about $7.6 million for the 19-year-old midfielder. He will stay with Red Star on loan for the remainder of this season. He was a member of the Serbian U-20 national team that won the U-20 World Cup over Brazil this summer.
