Sunday Premier League: Spurs creep up on Foxes with easy win

With Leicester going at it on Monday night against Newcastle, Spurs found themselves with the chance to put some pressure on the leaders by simply beating Aston Villa. Proceedings started of predictably enough. Spurs had the chances to score, but were robbed by a combination of Brad Guzan saves ave the woodwork. Harry Kane did manage to slip one in before the death of the half, though. A quick free kick caught Villa napping to give the local Tottenham hero an easy tally in the final minute of the first.

Kane got the second half rolling too. Inn the 48th he roofed a shot beyond Guzan to double the lead. Nothing more needed to be done at that point. Spurs continued to make things look easy against the son to be relegated. As the crowd at Villa Park dwindled to nothing, Tottenham claimed their win to move two points back of Leicester, for now.
