MLS pretty much has its next four clubs in Minnesota, Atlanta, Miami, and Los Angeles, but that doesn't mean they are stopping at 24. Don Garber will be in Sacramento on April 14 to talk with the owners behind Sacramento Republic, who have been storming though the USL setting attendance records all over the place. The Republic have a large group of investors and a plan for a soccer specific stadium that hinges on the city being awarded a franchise. These are two things that MLS takes very seriously when considering expansion candidates, so things look mighty good for the California capital.

Diego Costa will be suspended for one match in addition to the two he already has for the red card he picked up in the FA Cup against Everton. He will not sit for Chelsea's next two matches (he already sat for the Blues' 2-2 draw with West Ham) thanks to his "inappropriate conduct" shown during that quarterfinal match.

Gabriel Agbonlahor, the one sort of good player on Villa this season, will miss the club's match against Chelsea since he was photographed smoking a hookah. The Premier League is also conducting its own internal investigation into the incident. The league takes its smoking very seriously, regardless of the legality of the substance being inhaled. Jack Wilshere and Wojciech Szczesny have both been punished by Arsenal for getting caught with cigarettes.

The Rome Derby, one of the best rivalries in Europe, could be boycotted by supporters in protest of enhanced security measures at the Stadio Olimpico. Among the measures under protest are concrete barriers in the sections behind each goal and possible fines for sitting in the wrong seat. Normally able to attract over 50,000 fans, the last Rome Derby was also boycotted, although no attendance figure was given.
