Hooligan's Wake Up: MLS to Detroit creeping closer

Yesterday's Scores
UEFA Champions League- Semi-Finals First Leg
Manchester City 0-0 Real Madrid

Real Monarchs 0-0 Seattle Sounders 2

The MLS to Detroit drum is getting louder and louder. Pistons owner Tom Gores and Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert appear to have a plan in place to bring MLS to the Motor City that includes a downtown stadium concept. The momentum is strong enough that commissioner Don Garber will be in the city to meet with the two gentlemen and some possible investors. As for what this could mean for Detroit City, their statement was pretty vague on their involvement. It was just stated that they have "had conversations" with investors interested in turning DCFC pro. As for Gores and Gilbert, they say their plan would "compliment" DCFC and the other amateur soccer teams in the area.

The jury in the Hillsborough disaster case has ruled that the 96 deaths were caused unlawfully. The jury has found that match commander Chief Superintendent David Duckenfield was "responsible for manslaughter by gross negligence" and that the fans involved were not to blame. Instead, the police force is being blamed for poor policing and crowd control as well as structural issues with Hillsborough Stadium that should have been fixed before the 1989 FA Cup Semi-Final.
