Headlines
Rafa Benitez is staying at Newcastle despite his relegation opt out clause. The former Liverpool and Real Madrid manager was brought on specifically to help Newcastle remain in the Premier League and will now now trusted with getting them back there as quickly as possible. He only won three of ten matches in charge there, but that included a 5-1 drubbing of Tottenham on the final day of the season. Given a full off-season to construct a side and the lesser competition in the Championship, I have faith that Rafa can get Newcastle back to the top tier for 2017-18.

Jose Mourinho is having his arrival at Manchester United delayed by image rights. Apparently, Chelsea own the rights to the name "Jose Mourinho" until 2023. This has provided a snag in contract negotiations between him and his prospective new club. The rights can be transferred to United fairly easily, but there could be large sums of money involved. I doubt the delay will be long and we shall still hear some official announcement by the end of the week

Houston Dynamo have struggled this season. Their slow start has them at the bottom of the Western Conference and well out of the early playoff race. As a result, they have sacked manager Owen Coyle. They are calling it a mutual parting of ways, but what does it matter. He clearly didn't do well in MLS and has sunk Houston into a pretty deep hole. You can say he was never given the support to build a winner, but there wasn't exactly much time to do that either.
