Hooligan's Wake Up: Crew deal Kamara, Everton sack Martinez

Yesterday's Scores

Guadalajara 0-0 Club America

Kei Kamara has been in the news for all the wrong reasons, at least as far as Crew fans are concerned. First, he had an on field argument with Federico Higuain over who would take a penalty before the Crew blew a 4-1 lead against Montreal on Saturday. Then he had a lot of negative things to say about his teammates in the post game press conference. After only suspending last year's leading goal scorer at first, Kamara has now been dealt to the New England Revolution for allocation money, a second round super draft pick, and an international roster spot,
Kamara must have really been an awful teammate if the Crew were willing to ship him off for so little. I mean, he was tied for the most goals last season with Sebastian Giovinco. Surely his ability to score goals would allow him some press conference leeway. Apparently not. the Crew were having none of it and just wanted him gone.

CONCACAF, at long last, has a new president. Canadian Victor Montagliani has been elected as the new boss in North America. The head of the Canadian Soccer Association will have to clean up a federation that has been hit hard with bribery scandals and other criminal activity. He has also expressed his desire to bring back a Caribbean league and improve the leagues in Central America. Good luck to him. He's gonna need it.

Everton, as expected, have parted ways with manager Roberto Martinez. After an unsuccessful league season and a defeat in the FA Cup semi-final, the Toffees have decided to move in a different direction from the often criticized Martinez. Who could they hire in to replace him? Maybe former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez.
