Croatian fans are the newest hooligans to join the growing list of negative headlines coming from Euro 2016. They were guilty of pelting the pitch with flares and firecrackers late in their 2-2 draw with the Czech Republic. There was also Croatian instigated violence in the stands after the match. UEFA has opened a disciplinary investigation for Croatia, who has had to play in empty stadiums for racist fan behavior before and were charged for pitch invasion after their opening game against Turkey. Russia has been given a fine and suspended disqualification from the tournament, so I expect a similar punishment for Croatia.

American international Emerson Hyndman has made a move up the English pyramid. He had been playing with second tier Fulham, but has now signed with AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League. The former FC Dallas midfielder made 17 appearances last year for Fulham and was a main part of the USA 's U-20 World Cup squad last summer.

Two Americans were carded in Thursday night's victory in the Copa America quarterfinals and US Soccer is upset. they have filed protests against Bobby Wood's yellow card and Jermaine Jones's red from that match. They are seeking a repeal of the cards, thus regaining their ability to use those two in the next match. Both will be out of the semi-finals thanks to their respective incidents unless the federation gets its way.
