FIFA got hit with a bit of sad news considering their current president on Thursday, and yesterday their former one was hit again. Sepp Blatter, Jerome Valcke, and Markus Kattner managed to swindle the organization out of $80 million in illegal bonus payments that caused Swiss authorities to raid FIFA's offices again. Kattner was recently fired while Blatter and Valcke are currently serving lengthy suspensions that will probably prevent their return to the game already. This news probably means they wouldn't be welcome back even if their age allowed them to.

Leicester City have signed German international goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler from Hannover 96. He was Manuel Neuer's backup when Germany won the 2014 World Cup and has played in England before. Although he started off at Manchester United, he never made it into a first team game. He did play twice for League One side Northampton Town before joining Hannover. It was not disclosed how much the Foxes payed for his services.

The preliminary results of the US Women's National Team's attempts to strike agaisnt US Soccer for unfair wages are in. A federal judge has ruled that a 2013 memorandum of understanding carries over their CBA's no strike clause, meaning the team cannot strike against their federation.

Arsenal have made a bold maneuver by triggering Jamie Vardy's release clause on his Leicester City contract. The champions' leading goal scorer is reportedly in contact talks with the North London club, which is desperately in need of a striker. There is plenty of debate as to whether Vardy is the best option for them. Is he really that much different from Olivier Giroud or Danny Welbeck? Don't the Gunners want someone a little more dynamic? So many questions around this latest Arsene Wenger ploy.

In more concrete transfer news, Barcelona right back Dani Alves is departing the club after eight seasons. He will join Juventus next season.
