The New York Red Bulls have fired the opening salve in the summer MLS transfer window. They sent Lloyd Sam packing for the nation's capital in exchange for some allocation money. Manager Jesse Marsch is hoping to add a fresh attacker with the added money and room on the roster. Sam had scored once in 13 starts for the Red Bulls.

Middlesbrough continued its busy summer by signing former Barcelona and Manchester United keeper Victor Valdes. The three time Champions League winner brings some experience to a Middlesbrough side making it's first run in the Premier League since 2009.
