Crystal Palace are the latest smaller Premier League club to splash some big money for a bigger named player. The Eagles have sent £27 million, a club record, to Liverpool for Christian Benteke. The Belgian striker never truly caught on at Anfield, so much so that they are selling him at a loss. They paid £32.5 for him last summer.

Speaking of club record signings, West Ham set theirs when they bought Andre Ayew from Swansea a couple weeks ago. Now, their prized new addition will be out for four months after surgery on his thigh. He had played all of 35 minutes for West Ham before getting injured.

Colorado Rapids have been without Jermaine Jones for their last six matches since he went down with a knee injury. It was though that he would have returned by now, but the problem is taking longer to heal. Manager Pablo Mastroeni has said that he will not be in the team for Saturday's match against Orlando City.
