The USL actually made a little bit of soccer history in this match. This was the first competitive soccer match in the world to use video replay. It was first utilized in the 34th minute to issue a Red card to Orlando B's Conor Donovan.

Headlines
After a brief international retirement, Lionel Messi has announced that he will return to the national team for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers at the beginning of September. Messi's retirement was never about him being too old to play the game at an international level, it was about the corruption that floods the Argentina Football Federation. Not much has really changed, just Messi has had a change of heart. He's saying he would rather fight for change from the inside instead of sitting out in protest. Argentina take on Uruguay on September 2.

After Manchester United spend boatloads of money on Paul Pogba, he will find himself banned for his new clubs first match. He accumulated too many yellow cards in last year's Coppa Italia with Juventus. That suspension crosses national boundaries.

With the Premier League starting today, here's last night's post with my likely foolish Premier League predictions.
