It has long been suspected that Minnesota United will make the jump from the NASL to MLS for next season. That isn't quite official yet, but it could be as early as Friday when MLS and the club are set to make some sort of announcement. The widely believed rumor is that the 2017 start date will be confirmed. Hopefully we will also see an end to the debate regarding the club name. With D.C. United and Atlanta United (who were announced after Minnesota United) already having a United in their name, MLS was pressuring the Minnesota club to switch. Hopefully, they've used their brains, realized this isn't a problem, and allows them to keep the United on their name.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris left Tottenham's draw with Everton after barely more than a half hour. Turns out he suffered a hamstring strain that will keep him out for around four weeks. Michel Vorm will take up the duties between the sticks until his return.
