Orlando's Antonio Nocerino kicked the ball at Clint Dempsey in Sunday's 3-1 defeat at home to Seattle. MLS has suspended him for Orlando's match with Chicago this weekend. A couple other players will also sit out their team's next match. Houston's David Horst will miss a match for an elbow thrown at Montreal's Patrice Bernier on a corner kick. LA Galaxy's Jeff Larentowicz will also miss a game thanks to a tackle that injured New York Red Bulls defender Damien Perrinelle, for which he never even saw a card.

Speaking of that tackle, MLS has admitted to several officiating mistakes during that LA-New York debacle. Two missed penalty calls late in the second half are concerning to MLS and they are discussing the matter with the Professional Referees Organization, who supply MLS their refs. The league is expected to experiment with instant replay next season, which MLS Vice President Jeff Agoos says would have helped in those situations.

On the eve of the new Premier League season, Watford's Odion Ighalo has reupped with his club. He signed a five year extension that will keep him with the Hornets until 2021. He scored 17 goals in all competitions last year as Watford reached the FA Cup semi-final and finish 13th in the league.
