The Revs will move on to play either LA Galaxy or FC Dallas in the U.S. Open Cup Final.

As we head into the calm before the start of the season, one other major English club completed their pursuit of a long sought after, probably over-priced, transfer target. Manchester City finally completed the signing of defender John Stones for £47.5 million from Everton. Stones was being hotly pursued by many top clubs last summer, but Everton chose to hang onto him. Apparently, City waved enough cash in front of them to finally persuade them to cough Stones up. It helps that this is the most Everton have ever received in a transfer fee.

Many cities seem to want in on top level professional soccer in the USA, and now Nashville is joining that list. The Music City has formed the Nashville MLS Organizing Committee with the aim of bringing MLS to Tennessee. Many politicians, including several that helped bring the Tennessee Titans to the NFL, are involved. Nashville recently got themselves a USL franchise that will begin play next year, so we will get a small taste of what the game can possible do down there. They are, by their own admission, in the back of the line when it comes to potential MLS cities.
