Hooligan's Wake Up: Wayne Rooney to MLS?

Yesterday's Scores
La Liga
Celta Vigo 0-1 Leganes
(Diaz Miguel 75')

Valencia 2-4 Las Palmas
(Mina 6', 34')-(Livaja 16', 88', Viera 24', Boateng 31')

Portland Timbers owner Merritt Paulson is one of the more outspoken of MLS executives. Apparently, he is using that status to try and draw Wayne Rooney to the league. He cites tehe successes of Sebastian Giovinco both on the pitch and in his bank account as reasons Rooney should hop across the pond. The benefits to MLS go without saying. Rooney would be a star in the league as he is still miles ahead of any other player out there, except maybe Giovinco.

After winning gold at the Olympics and then resigning his captaincy, Neymar is now saying he will not return to Barcelona until after the international break in the first week of September. Brazil has two World Cup Qualifying matches in that time span and Neymar will feature in both. In order to play in those matches against Ecuador and Colombia, he will miss Barca's match with Athletic Bilbao.

Over in England, Sam Allardyce is apparently open to the idea of John Terry returning to the England squad. The Chelsea legend has 78 caps with his nation and he retired back in 2012. The political situation with the national team has improved to the point where he may consider a comeback, even at the age of 35.
