Toronto FC 1-0 Real Salt Lake
In a match that defined midweek MLS, Toronto FC was able to scrap out a victory against a Real Alt Lake side that wasn't entirely sharp with the ball.
The match itself was a fairly even affair. Shots finished 13-12 in favor of Toronto, who ended up with the only shot that mattered.
The lone goal of the match came from substitute Tosaint Ricketts in the 68th minute. Jozy Altidore flicked a ball through to the hustling Canadian international, who collected it and blasted past Nick Rimando. RSL held the ball for much of the remainder, but failed to truly threaten the goal. It was very much a midweek MLS match.
The win puts Toronto FC into second place over New York Red Bulls, who were busy with CONCACAF Champions League action tonight. They hold a match in hand on them as well. Real Salt Lake continues to sit in fifth place in the West. A win would have launched them into third, however.
