Headlines
Yesterday, the US Women's National Team took on Thailand in a friendly that also served as the final national team match for Heather O'Reilly. The USA won by a 9-0 score, but of course that wasn't the highlight of the night. Megan Rapinoe, once again, kneeled during the National Anthem in protest of the treatment of the LGBT community in this country. She did not start the match, so her protest took place on the bench, but it was still a protest nonetheless. US Soccer stated afterwards that they did not agree with her decision to carry out a protest with the national team. JIll Ellis, while respecting her right to do as she pleased, felt it was not what was expected of a national team player. Rapinoe did come on as a half time substitute.
