This concludes the third round of CONCACAF qualifying with Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, the USA, and Trinidad and Tobago advancing to The Hex, which begins on November 11. The Americans get their campaign started against Mexico at home, more than likely in Columbus, Ohio.

El Salvador players reportedly refused a substantial bribe to throw yesterday's match against Canada. Players were reportedly offered up to $30 per minute played if they had lost the game, which they did. A significant loss coupled with a significant Mexico win over Honduras (which didn't happen) would have seen Canada progress to The Hex instead of El Salvador rivals Honduras. The scheme was brought to light by the players, who played a recording of the offer during their pre-match press conference. FIFA and CONCACAF are investigating.

This weekend's La Liga matches are in doubt thanks to a crazy heat wave hitting Spain. Temperatures throughout the country are expected to hit triple digits this weekend, forcing league president Javier Tebas to consider postponing the upcoming slate of matches.
