Columbus Crew, who play in the oldest soccer specific stadium in the country, are surveying the possibility of building a new stadium. At first glance, it seems silly to replace the 17 year old facility, but if you dig a little deeper into the details, it becomes a little clearer why they would want to. The location is far from downtown. It was built fairly cheaply due to MLS's instability back in 1999. Also, when compared to newer MLS stadiums, it doesn't have quite the same visual appeal. It's only a study, however, not a commitment to a new project. And there's no harm in at least taking a look at options.

Neymar is ready to sign a new deal with Barcelona. On Friday, the Brazilian wonder kid will extend his stay at Camp Nou until 2021. He had reportedly engaged in talks with Paris-Saint Germain and had been linked with Manchester United.

Former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt is officially the newest American in the European soccer business. He has purchased French club Olympique Marseille for €45 million. McCourt sold the Dodgers for around $2 billion after a messy divorce a few years back, so the price tag isn't all that much to him. The club he inherits was once a giant in French football, but they finished in 13th last year.
