Hooligan's Wake Up: Bony strikes twice to sink former team

Yesterday's Scores
Premier League
Stoke City 3-1 Swansea City
(Bony 3', 73')-(Mawson OG 55')-(Routledge 8')

It took him until game number ten, but Wilfried Bony has his first goals of the season and they came agaisnt his former club. Bony arrived at Stoke on a loan move from Manchester City, where he has been less than impressive. His double here has Swansea off to their worst start since first being promoted to the Premier League in 2011. It's safe to say that Bob Bradley has quite the task in front of him if he wants his initial tenure in England to be a success.

La Liga
Deportivo La Coruna 1-1 Valencia
(Colak 45+2')-(Rodrigo 56')

Serie A
Udinese 2-2 Torino
(Thereau 60', Zapata 70')-(Benassi 15', Ljajic 77')

Cagliari 2-1 Palermo
(Dessena 53', 64')-(Nestoroski 79')

Not really soccer news, but in the wee hours of the morning, I announced my 50,000 Words of Soccer challenge. Head here for the full details.

There's some good news for Manchester United, for once. Bastian Schweinsteiger, who has not played all season long despite being quite healthy. and Henrik Mkhitaryan. who hasn't been in the team since diving back in the Manchester Derby, were both spotted training with the first team. This feels a little tabloid-y, since the evidence is some photos published by the Daily Mail, but it could be interpreted as a smal sign of Jose Mourinho regaining a slight bit of sanity amongst United's recent struggles.

This is starting to sound a bit like a broken record, but Jermaine Jones might be fit to start the second leg of Colorado's West semi-final tie with LA Galaxy. The American international has been out for over three months with a knee injury, but has been back in training for a couple weeks. It seems like he has been a game time decision for every Rapids match over the last month or two. He did come off the bench in the first leg, where he had what was probably Colorado's best chance in a 1-0 loss.
