MLS Cup Playoffs- Final
Toronto FC 0-0 Seattle Sounders (4-5 in penalties)

It was a very, very sloppy game that Toronto FC probably deserved to win, but the Sounders survived and stole it in penalties. Toronto was the better team throughout the 120 minutes. They carried possession, took a ton of shots, and didn't allow Seattle to break all that well. In fact, Seattle is the first team to go through an entire MLS Cup match without a shot on goal. They only took one, horrifically off target shot in the match. The rest was weak shots and almost chances from Toronto. The best may have been in the dying seconds of regular time when Stefan Frei barely beat a diving Jozy Altidore to a ball that would have been a clear winner. In extra time, Frei had to come up big again with the save of the century when he barely got a palm to a floating Altidore header that was destined to waft into the top corner.

But it was a sloppy match. Passing was rarely crisp. Most of Toronto's shots were soft and straight at the keeper. The cold certainly had a lot to do with that. It was below freezing and windy for the entire game. It never dampened the spirits of the Toronto crowd, but it did really hold back what could have been a very entertaining Final.

Jermaine Jones is more or less a free agent after his contract with Colorado Rapids ran out. He is apparently in talks with LA Galaxy to become the next old man on their squad. the club has confirmed that talks, but does not have a comment on how they are progressing or how much they intend to pay him. Jones is said to be looking for a Designated Player deal. The more important concern for the Galaxy is their coaching situation. They confirmed that Curt Onalfo and Sigi Schmid have been interviewed for the job. They would not comment on rumors linking Columbus Crew coach Greg Berhalter to them.
