The Chicago Fire continue their busy offseason by sending $400,000 in General Allocation Money to New York Red Bulls for their Captain, Dax McCarty. McCarty had spent the last two seasons as the Red Bulls skipper and tallied 14 goals in the process. The Fire could very well become 2017's breakout team. They have added a talented Polish Designated Player and some valuable MLS experience to their team this year.

Juventus have taken the bold move of abandoning their traditional quest for something being described as minimalist. The Old Lady unveiled their new logo yesterday and it looks... simple and boring. It's a black and white 'J' with "Juventus" written above it. It isn't exactly exciting and it abandons their traditional crest with the charging bull on it. All the reaction I have seen so far is negative. Which I wholeheartedly agree with.

Former Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Ajax, Barcelona, and Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal has retired from coaching. He has been out of work since United let him go last spring and cites family reasons for his decision. Although his stay at United didn't work out, he did have a successful overall career. He won seven league titles in three different countries, the Champions League and UEFA Cup with Ajax, and the FA Cup with Manchester United.

Bayern Munich have extended Arjen Robben's deal with the club through next season. The Dutch star's contract was set to end after this campaign, but now he will remain with the German champs for at least another year.
