Hooligan's Wake Up: Shanghai SIPG offering world record fee for Aubameyang

Yesterday's Scores
Premier League
AFC Bournemouth 3-3 Arsenal
(Daniels 16', Wilson PK 20', Fraser 58')-(Sanchez 70', Lucas 74',  Giroud 90+2')

Arsenal will be most upset with how this match turned out. Not only did they draw against a club they really should be defeating, but they had to scramble back from being down 3-0 after an hour in order to earn that draw. For a good 70 minutes, Alexis Sanchez was the only player putting forth any effort. It wasn't until his opening goal and Lucas's introduction that Arsenal started to look like the side they know they can be. They will have to hope for some dropped points from Tottenham today against Chelsea in order to hold their top four place.

Crystal Palace 1-2 Swansea
(Zaha 83')-(Mawson 42', Rangel 88')

Stoke City 2-0 Watford
(Shawcross 45+3', Crouch 49')

The Chinese Super League is at it again. Shanghai SIPG are offering Borussia Dortmund a world record €150 million transfer fee for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. They are packaging that along with another world record €41 million a year salary.

Hull City have sacked manager Mike Phelan after all of three months on the job. He has the newly promoted Tigers at the bottom of the table through 20 matches. He took over after Steve Bruce abruptly left the club late in the off season and was appointed as his official replacement in October. Turns out Hull's turbulent manager position will continue early in 2017. The search for a replacement has begun, but no candidates have emerged quite yet.

Columbus Crew have added an international Designated Player. They have signed Ghana's Jonathan Mensah from Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala. The defender is Crew's second DP, joining Federico Higuain. He has been capped 51 times by Ghana and played for them in each of the last two World Cups. He will represent his nation in the African Cup of Nations this month. Before his latest run in Russia, he spent time with Udinese, Granada, and France's Evian.

U.S. Soccer has announced that their second friendly of January camp will be against Jamaica in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The match will go down on February 3 and will be the National Team's first visit to the small city. Chattanooga is home to one of the most successful NPSL sides, Chattanooga FC. They play at Finley Stadium, which holds 20,000 fans, and hosted the 2015 NPSL national championship and had over 17,000 attend the game. Part of me also remembers Don Garber's odd callout of the city as being somewhere an MLS franchise wouldn't want to travel to as an attack against promotion./relegation. Well, Don, I guess the National Team isn't above playing there.

In a related story, Chattanooga FC will also host Atlanta United's first match, a preseason friendly on February 11.
