Chelsea have received permission from local authorities to begin their plans on renovating Stamford Bridge into a 60,000 seat modern football palace. There are still a couple hurdles to leap over in order to begin work, but they should be cleared soon, Most notably, the club need final permission from the London mayor's office and they will need to secure a temporary home while construction goes on. Twickenham Stadium and Wembley are the leading candidates. Tottenham will use Wembley for at least next season while work on their new stadium finishes and their current home is demolished.

Manchester United have activated Marouane Fellaini's contract extension. His deal will now go until the end of he 2017-18 season. It was rumoured that the afroed Belgian could be sold this January, but it appears Jose Mourinho is going to hang onto him for a little while longer.

Partizan Belgrade have been banned from European competition for three years thanks to a piling up of unpaid debts. They have accumulated €2.5 million in debt, mostly in unpaid taxes. This ins't their first run in with repayment issues. They were most recently charged by UEFA for similar infractions in 2013, and received a suspended one year ban from continental play. The Serbian champions will not be allowed in the Champions League or Europa League until the suspension is complete.
