Atlanta United has added another international player. This time it's midfielder Carlos Carmona of Chile coming to the club from Atalanta in Serie A. They used Targeted Allocation Money to get the deal done. Carmona has played nine seasons in Italy, including the last seven with Atalanta. He also has 47 caps with Chile's national team, including three starts in the 2010 World Cup.

Real Salt Lake were also busy in the international transfer market, only they are bringing in a USA youth international on loan. Brooks Lennon is coming in from Liverpool for the entirety of the MLS season. Now 19, he once played for the RSL youth academy before crossing the pond to play for the Reds. He has joined the team's training camp, but will leave the team later this month to join the USA U-20s for the CONCACAF U-20 Championship.

Finally, in a local story, Detroit's MLS bid could be getting a boost after Dan Gilbert's latest proposal for his potential stadium site. He is offering to build Wayne County a new criminal justice complex for the low, low price of $300 million and the site of the current unfinished jail in downtown Detroit. If the deal goes through, the expansion bid receives a huge boost with a stadium site nailed down. The county has received the proposal, but wouldn't comment any further.
