Al Curtis is no longer the New York Red Bulls' sporting director. Curtis and the club parted ways on mutual consent yesterday, The club thanked him for his two years of service and his major role in bringing the Supporters Shield home in 2015. No details were given on why he is leaving the club, just that it was mutual. It certainly wasn't due to poor performance. The Red Bulls won the Shield in his first season and finished with the best record in the East last season. Perhaps a squabble with ownership? Nobody outside of the club seems to know much at this point.

Highly respected referee Mark Clattenburg is leaving his post in England to take a job in Saudi Arabia. The Globe Soccer referee of the year has been part of the Premier League officiating setup since 2004 and taken charge of the European Championships Final, Champions League Final, and FA Cup final. He ha s reportedly grown unhappy with the support received from his parent organization, The Professional Game Match Officials Limited. His last match was Arsenal's 2-0 win over Hull City on Saturday.
