FC Dallas suffers a heartbreaker in the CCL. They tied the match on aggregate late on before conceding a rather soft winner at the death of the match. They put forth a strong effort in the two legged tie, but ultimately proved that MLS has a long way to go to catch their Mexican rivals in terms of talent. Vancouver Whitecaps make their bid for an appearance in the final tonight at home against Tigres UANL, but I can't imagine home field advantage is going to help much as they try to overcome a 2-0 first leg deficit against such powerful opposition.

Orlando City B 3-1 Toronto FC II
(Clowes 18', Barry 41', Neal 51')-(Johnson 30')

Voters in the city of St. Louis have rejected a proposal that would have sent $60 million in public money to the investment group looking to bring MLS to the city. The group was hoping to get the city to partially fund their potential soccer specific stadium. Passing the proposal would have pretty much secured St. Louis a spot in the next round of expansion. Instead, their chances are on thin ice after this seemingly last ditch effort for public funding has failed. The league calls the result a "significant setback" for their expansion hopes and a "loss for the community."

The Spanish third tier match between Eldense and Barcelona's B team is predictably turning out to be more than just a 12-0 drubbing. The club cut ties with its new found ownership group right away after the match and now their coach and general manager have been arrested amidst an investigation into match fixing. While the 12-0 loss seems to be an obvious fix based on testimony from players and other evidence, there is reason to believe this is only the tip of the iceberg in a match fixing saga.
