Headlines
It's been rumored for a while, but CONCACAF is officially aiming for a three nation host bid for the 2026 World Cup. If successful, the first 48 team World Cup would be hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The confederation is hoping to overcome political obstacles, such as US President Donald Trump's travel ban and desire to biold a wall on the Mexican border. FIFA has said the World Cup cannot and will not be played in the USA if players and fans can't get into the country, which makes perfect sense to me.

Jesse Lingard is extending his stay at Manchester United. The England international midfielder signed a contract extension that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2021 and net him £100,000 a week. He's got five goals in 29 appearances this season for Jose Mourinho's Red Devils.

Luis Gil is back in MLS. Orlando CIty have loaned him out from Queretarto after sending $100,000 in TAM to Real Salt Lake, who owned his MLS rights. The Lions can buy him outright at the end of the loan, should they choose to. If they don't, RSL will return half the TAM and regain his rights. Gil went to Mexico following the 2015 season after playing for six seasons with RSL, where he scored 11 goals in 158 league games. He's also been capped by the USMNT twice.
