U.S. Soccer and the USWNT have finally ended their long lasting labor dispute by ratifying a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. The two parties had been operating without a CBA since the last one expired in 2012, but a memorandum of understanding was preventing the players from striking. The new agreement includes significant increases to bonus compensation for national team players and daily stipends equal to those of the Men's squad. U.S. Soccer will also continue to pay the NWSL salaries of USWNT players in the league. It also includes vague mentions of improving the standards of the NWSL. Nothing specific was mentioned, but it could include stadium quality, salaries, or anything, really. The agreement will last for five years, through the 2019 Women's World Cup and the 2020 Olympics.

Liverpool have been fined £100,000 and are banned from signing away academy players from other clubs for two years following a dispute relating to their signing of a 12-year-old youth player from Stoke. They apparently spoke to the player and his family before they we allowed to and paid them to attend a game at Anfield. There were other offers to pay the family for school fees, which had been covered by Stoke City. The specific terms of the ban mean they cannot sign any academy player that has been registered by a Premier League or EFL club in the last year and a half.
