Minutes after the scheduled publish time for yesterday's post, it was announced that the remainder of Lionel Messi's four game international suspension had been lifted. Messi lodged a successful appeal of the referee abuse charges against him and he can now play in Argentina's remaining World Cup Qualifying matches. The review panel found there was not enough evidence to support a four game ban and 10,000 Swiss franc fine.

In other successful appeal news, Sulley Muntari's suspension for walking of the pitch amidst racial abuse has also been lifted. Muntari's cause had gone so far, it had reached the United Nations with his actions being seen as an inspiration. The Italian football federation caved beneath the global levels of pressure and eventually made the right decision here, but there still hasn't been any news of punishment heading towards Cagliari or their fans.

Manchester City have been fined £300,000 and been banned from signing youth players after they breached Premier League transfer regulations. They illegally approached the families of youth players signed with other clubs. They cannot sign a U18 player registered to an EFL or Premier League club in the last year and a half for the next three years as a result of the violations.
