Europa League- Semi-Finals First Leg
Celta Vigo 0-1 Manchester United
It took a little while, but Manchester United finally found the own goal they were looking for in Spain. Marcus Rashford finally booted a free kick home in the 67th, but it came after a few nice chances earlier in the match. They will take that away goal into what should be a comfortable home leg at Old Trafford next Thursday.
Lionel Messi is lodging an appeal of the remainder of his four game international ban with FIFA. The superstar was suspended four games for inappropriate behavior towards a referee in a World Cup Qualifier against Bolivia. He has already served the first game of the ban, but it hoping to get out of the final three. There is precedent for a reduction. Similar cases have seen four game suspensions reduced to a two year probationary period following referee abuse charges, so there is a chance this works out for Messi and Argentina.
