Hooligan's Daily: Wenger finally takes down Mourinho

Yesterday's Scores
Premier League
Liverpool 0-0 Southampton

Arsenal 2-0 Manchester United
(Xhaka 54', Welbeck 57')

Two quick second half goals give Arsene Wenger his first ever competitive win over a Jose Mourinho led team. He downplayed the accomplishment afterwards and Mourinho had stated the rivalry between the two is over, especially considering the current state of each club. Neither look like strong candidates for the top four this year, which is a standard they aren't used to. Even though the managers themselves think this thing is done and dusted, I will personally celebrate the long awaited triumph of the good forces of Arsene Wenger over the twisted, evil ways of Jose Mourinho, much like I did after the 2015 Community Shield.

The Liga MX Clausura quarterfinal matches are set. Two big rivalry matches serve as the highlights as second seeded Monterrey takes on local rivals, and Apertura champions, Tigres in a Clasico Regio matchup and Chavas de Guadalajara will play Atlas in a Clasico Tapatio battle. The first legs of these matches will be either Thursday or Friday with the return games being played Saturday or Sunday. Here are all four ties for this round:

Tijuana v. Morelia
Monterrey v. UANL
Guadalajara v. Atlas
Toluca v. Santos

In other Mexican news, Club America have parted ways with manager Ricardo La Volpe after they missed they playoffs on goal difference. America may have reached the Apertura final in 2016, but they failed to follow it up in the second half of the season and decided change was needed. Current Tijuana and former Club America coach Miguel "Piojo" Herrera is rumored to be in line for the job. His Xolos contract runs out at the end of the year after leading his club to the top spot in the Clausura playoffs.
