Juventus has released Dani Alves from the final year of his contract, opening the door for him to move away from the club. Manchester City are expected to swoop him up. Pep Guardiola managed him during his Barcelona days and he would be a nice fit into his system, despite his advanced age.

Angel di Maria has settled his Spanish tax evasion case. He has agreed to pay back €2 million and serve a eight month suspended jail sentence. Since he is a first time offender, and the jail term is less than two years, di Maria won't actually spend any time in the slammer.

American goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann, son of Jurgen, is going to have a trial with Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga. The US U20 keeper will head to Germany for the first ten days of their preseason campaign, beginning July 3. The third string keeper job is available there, and he could be offered the gig if the trail goes well. Klinsmann, who wants to join the Bundesliga or another big league, also has offers from Eintracht Braunschweig, Ingolstadt, and an unnamed Swiss club.
