Hooligan's Daily: Modric facing perjury charges in Croatia

Yesterday's Scores
FIFA Confederations Cup
Australia 2-3 Germany
(Rogic 41', Juric 56')-(Stindl 5', Draxler PK 44', Goretzka 48')

Real Monarchs 2-1 Reno 1868
(Brody 22', Peay 45+3')-(Hoppenot 34')

This was the ninth straight win for Real Monarchs, which sets a new USL record. Reno thought they tied the match late with a goalkeeper goal, but the offside flag got in the way.

Seattle Sounders 2 3-2 Oklahoma City Energy
(Mathers 13', PK 39', Olsen 90')-(Dixon 70', Craven PK 86')

Mexican winger Hirving Lozano temporarily left El Tri in order to finish up his move from Pachuca to PSV Eindhoven. He's agreed to a six year contract with the Dutch club and is just needed to put pen to paper. He will be back in time for Mexico's next match against New Zealand on Wednesday.

Real Madrid's Luka Modric, who testified in a trial against his former manager at Dinamo Zagreb, is now facing perjury charges for his testimony. He is accused of lying under oath while speaking about his transfer from Dinamo to Spurs and some terms in that contract related to transfer fees and when that annex was added to the contract.

Some minor, but possibly significant, MLS news as the league has bought out its only remaining outside investor. They have gained full control of Soccer United Marketing after buying out the stake held by Providence Equity Partners, who once held a 25% stake in the company. The rapid growth of the league has lessened their share, while still providing a strong return on their initial investment.
