Chuck Blazer, who helped bring the United States into the modern age in terms of soccer before he shamelessly took bribes and committed various counts of fraud, has died at the age of 72. He suffered from poor health in recent years and was the target of an FBI investigation related to his taxes. Blazer will be remembered for his role in accepting bribes related to the 2010 World Cup bidding process, but also for his role in bringing down other FIFA big wigs when he recorder meetings of fellow corrupt FIFA officials.

He won't be remembered for his positive effect on soccer in the United States. He was part of the U.S. Soccer Federation in the 1980s and helped raise the profile of the USMNT, helped form the USWNT, and played a key role in winning the hosting rights for the 1994 World Cup.

Dani Alves has joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer from Juventus despite heavy links to Manchester City. The French giants reportedly offered a higher wage than City could, which made the decision easy for him.
