Arsenal have officially announced the signing of Alexandre Lacazette from Olympique Lyonnais. The final transfer price is a club record £47.5 million. He is expected to travel to Australia with the club for the beginning of their preseason tour.

Real Madrid have bought Theo Hernandez from rivals Atletico Madrid. Hernandez had a €24 million release clause in his contract with his now former club. He joins the Spanish and European champions on a six year deal after spending last year on loan at Alaves. He never played for the first team at Atletico and had always wanted to move to Real, apparently.

Chris Pontius has been called into the USMNT to replace the injured Kenny Saief. Saief had just completed his one time transfer from Israel to the USA with the aim of playing in the Gold Cup, but a groin injury will delay his national team debut. Pontius has two previous caps with the USMNT, both in friendlies earlier this year.

American Perry Kitchen has transferred from Hearts in Scotland to Randers FC in Denmark. He spent a little more than one season in the Scottish Premier League and even captained the side before they changed managers mid-season.

Portland Timbers will be without their captain Liam Ridgewell for six to eight more weeks. The central defender reaggravated a quad injury that has held him out for the majority of this season. He hasn't played since June 10 and is just the latest in a long line of Timbers injuries.
