Hooligan's Daily: USA takes home sixth Gold Cup title

Yesterday's Scores
CONCACAF Gold Cup- Final
United States 1-1 Jamaica
(Altidore 45')-(Watson 50')

The USA has won the CONCACAF Gold Cup for the sixth time thanks to Jordan Morris's late winner. Jamaica gave them all they had. After Jozy Altidore opened the scoring just before halftime with a laser of a free kick, the Reggae Boys answered right away in the second when Je-Vaughn Watson banged home a corner. The USA held possession for the majority of the match and finally broke through with the Morris goal near the end.

There is actually a lot to love about the USMNT's position right now. They won the tournament, which is a nice accomplishment even though they avoided Mexico's reserve squad. Anything less than a title would have been considered total failure. They won it as several young players picked up some valuable experience. Plus, Bruce Arena is unbeaten in his second tenure as manager of the national team. So, yeah. There's a lot to be happy about, for once.

Philadelphia Union 3-0 Columbus Crew
(Ilsinho 20', Sapong 66', Epps 81')

Charlotte Independence 0-0 Richmond Kickers

Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2-2 Charleston Battery
(Souto 21', Hertzog 62')-(Robinson 11', Chang 84')

Rochester Rhinos 2-0 Toronto FC II
(Defregger 58', Dunn-Johnson OG 76')

Rio Grande Valley 1-2 Real Monarchs
(Escalante 58')-(Haber 8', Hoffman PK 78')
