Neymar Watch 2017 looked to be ending soon. Various reports indicate he has said goodbye to his Barcelona teammates, Messi has said goodbye to him, and Barcelona have confirmed he wants to leave and expects to get €222 million from Paris Saint-Germain, a fee that Jose Mourinho claims is "not expensive" but still poses a problem. We might perhaps maybe see this saga come to an end in the coming hour or days and the Brazilian star will be on the way to France.

But, wait! Neymar's representatives apparently went to deliver the €222 million check to activate the release clause and La Liga refused to accept it, claiming financial shenanigans. Their refusal also may or may not have been legal. So, yeah, this whole saga just won't go away.

Bayern Munich will be without new signing James Rodriguez for the start of the Bundesliga season. The Colombian suffered a thigh injury in a friendly against Liverpool and will be out for "weeks" before he returns. Also out for Bayern is Thiago, who suffered an abdominal injury.

Everton captain Phil Jagielka signed a new deal that will keep him at Goodison Park until 2019. He arrived at the club a decade ago and now could retire with the club.

Arsenal have loaned backup goalkeeper Emi Martinez to Getafe in Spain. Martinez started a handful of matches for the Gunners last year, including three clean sheets. It's his fourth loan spell away from the club.

Don Garber spoke before the MLS All-Star Game yesterday and spoke about David Beckham's Miami's progress towards an expansion franchise. The Board of Governors authorized the final stages of adding them as an expansion team during yesterday's meeting. No official word came down, but he is expecting Miami's entry confirmed this fall, before teams 25 and 26 are revealed.
