This match was delayed for an hour thanks to a mob of unticketed FC Koln fans storming the gates at The Emirates trying to gain access to the game. It even looked like the fixture would be called off for a while, but once the hooligans were suppressed, fans were allowed in the stadium and the game went on, albeit with a rowdier atmosphere than that stadium is used to seeing.

Real Madrid successfully appealed Marcelo's red card suspension down to a single game. Marcelo was initially hit with a three game ban for kicking Levante's Jefferson Lerma late in their match over the weekend. He will now only miss Sunday's game agaisnt Real Sociedad.

UEFA charged Spartak Moscow for in incident in Wednesday's Champions League match where a fan fired a flare onto the pitch and nearly hit the referee. No specific punishment was doled out, but there will be a hearing on September 21 to determine one.

Stoke City extended Mame Diouf's deal for three years, keeping him there until 2020. He has made 99 appearances for Stoke since arriving in 2014. He has 19 goals in that time.

Montreal Impact re-signed young forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel for two more years with a team option for 2020. The 24-year-old was signed from the club's academy in 2014 and has seven goals in this, his first season with the senior team. He had spend the previous three years with the Impact's reserve side.
