With all that, England and Germany become the next European teams to qualify for the World Cup, joining Belgium and Russia as the four European entrants thus far.

South American qualifying is still a complete mess. Three points separate Uruguay in second from Paraguay in seventh right now. Argentina are currently out of qualifying position down in sixth place with one game remaining. As it stands now, Brazil would be joined by Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, and probably Peru, who would have to win a playoff agaisnt New Zealand to get in.

MLS clarified its timetable for choosing the next pair of expansion teams. They are expected to reveal their choices around December 19 or 20. Don Garber revealed this info during a talk with Goldman-Sachs. He also said that the league wants to get their decision right, and if it means delaying said decision, they will.
