Headlines
New York City FC midfielder and Italian legend announced he will retire at the end of the 2017 season. The 38-year-old forward had a storied career in Serie A and with the Italian national team before making the trek across the Atlantic to ride into the sunset in New York. He spent 21 years in Italy, with spells at Inter, AC Milan, and Juventus. He was part of the Italy team that won the 2006 World Cup. Since coming to the USA, he's made 60 appearances for NYCFC with only one goal.

One more important Premier League player couldn't escape the international break in one piece. Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi limped out of Germany's 5-1 win over Azerbaijan in the first half with a muscle tear. Germany coach Joachim Low expects an "extended layoff" for him.
