Paris Saint-Germain's Qatari chairman and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi is the target of a FIFA investigation related to World Cup media rights. He reportedly offered bribes to disgraced former FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke in oreder to secure World Cup media rights in several countries for beIN media group. The evidence stemmed from the ongoing investigation into Valcke that was part of the original FIFA scandal a couple years ago.

New York CIty announced they are getting kicked out of their home stadium in favor of playoff baseball. Their home regular season finale will be played at Citi Field in Queens to avoid a potential conflict with the tail end of the ALCS or the beginning of the World Series. If the ALCS goes the full seven games or the Yankees make the World Series, the timetable for turning the stadium over for soccer would just be too tight. Rather than take that risk, NYCFC are preemptively moving the game to avoid having to do so on short notice.
