Headlines
Columbus officials met with Crew SC owner Anthony Precourt yesterday and left unhappy. While the city was hoping to make their case for why MLS should remain there, they failed to get any sort of commitment from Precourt or the league. The city claims to have every option on the table, while MLS says they didn't put anything out there. All in all, the talks sound very unproductive and feel like they only proved that Precourt wants to move his franchise to Texas no matter what.

Clint Dempsey agreed to a new one-year deal with the Seattle Sounders. No specific terms were disclosed, but it appears to be worth between $1.5 and $2 million. That's around half what he makes now. There were rumors that he might call it quits after this year, but his 14 goals in 30 games have spoken well to his form this year, so why not give it at least one more go?
