Only two spots remain as Denmark emphatically takes down Ireland in the lone exciting UEFA playoff match of the international break. The final places will be filled tonight, one will be full by the time this posts, at the conclusion of the intercontinental playoffs.

Headlines
Didier Drogba announced he will retire after next season. The former Chelsea star will feature one last campaign with Phoenix Rising of the USL, the team he partially owns. He will reportedly set his sights on getting his team into MLS, somewhat following in the footsteps of fellow European club legend, David Beckham.

MLS announced its key offseason dates yesterday. The significant one is Tuesday, December 12, which is the Los Angeles FC expansion draft and the beginning of the free agency period.

Atlanta United will field a USL team next season, adding to the growing ranks of MLS2 teams in the league. The new club will play at Coolray Field in Gwinnett, Georgia, home AAA baseball's Gwinnett Braves. The club will reveal its name and crest in the next few months.
