Headlines
Sunil Gulati's second in command is throwing his name into the mix that is the U.S. Soccer presidential election. Carlos Cordeiro, the current VP of the USSF is a longtime friend of the incumbent president, and wasn't expected to join the race. He's laid out a platform that calls for significant structural changes that focus on increasing the spending budget and thinking of the federation as more of a business, as opposed to a governing body. I'm sure that will play well with the majority of folks that want Gulati out of there.

Houston Dynamo keeper Tyler Deric has been indefinitely suspended by MLS following a domestic violence incident. Deric was arrested and charged on Tuesday night on misdemeanor assault charges. He is barred from any and all team activities, most importantly Sunday's second leg of the Western Conference Semi-Finals agaisnt Portland.

Despite struggling for most of the year and missing the playoffs, the Philadelphia Union are hanging onto Jim Curtain as their head coach. He got the team to the playoffs last year, but started this year on an eight game winless streak before they rallied to finish in eighth. Next year will be his fourth in Philly, and the pressure will be on to have a strong season.
