Olympiakos 0-2 Juventus
(Cuadrado 15', Bernardeschi 89')

The main takeaway from today's action was Atletico Madrid dropping down to the Europa League thanks to a draw at Chelsea. They needed to win and hope for an AS Roma loss, which also failed to happen. All the other big clubs moved on, as did FC Basel,. thanks to their win over Benfica.

Continental Tables

As expected, SUM president Kathy Carter is officially throwing her name into the melee known as the U.S. Soccer presidential race. Carter will run as a Sunil Gulati look-alike thanks to her leadership role in SUM, which is basically the vehicle MLS uses to actually turn its owner/investors a profit. As I stated before, I wold rather Gulati get reelected than see this marketing executive put in charge of U.S. Soccer. I can't imagine there would be much in the way of change going on if she won the election, so, let's hope that doesn't happen.
